AIM OF THE COURSE
The aim of the OHS Act is to provide for the safety and health of persons at work and in connection with the use of plant and machinery on construction sites. It further provides for the protection of people other than people at work from hazards arising out of or in connection with the activities from people at work.

The aim of the COID Act is to guide and help people report incidents.

PURPOSE OF THE COURSE
Learners found competent in this unit standard will be able to explain the basic principles of the OHS Act, COID and Construction regulation consequences of non-compliance.
